Inside a dark hive, a bee repeats a figure-eight movement. The angle of the waggle run corresponds to a direction outside, adjusted as the Sun moves. The duration relates to travel effort and distance. Experiments that alter the dance or landscape show that recruits use the information, while odour helps them identify the correct flowers. The Ridbusters then compare the wording with the original sources, look for the conditions of each observation and check whether another explanation could fit. That turns a surprising headline into a trail a young investigator can follow: claim, test, result and remaining uncertainty.
